South Asia's First Digital Madrasa for Ladies

South Asia's First Digital Madrasa for Ladies

In a groundbreaking move, Sri Lanka has ushered in a new era of Islamic education with the launch of LAAIQA, South Asia's first digital Madrasa exclusively for ladies. With a deep sense of pride, LAAIQA embarked on its journey in the auspicious year of Hijiri 1443 (2023), attracting over 200 students in its inaugural batch alone. This pioneering initiative aims to provide a flexible and accessible platform for learning, transcending geographical boundaries and empowering women to enhance their knowledge of Islam from the comfort of their homes.

One of the unique aspects of LAAIQA is its inclusive approach. Unlike traditional Madrasas, LAAIQA has no specific age limit for enrollment. Any individual above the age of 13 can join, regardless of their background or prior education. This inclusive policy opens doors for women of various age groups and educational backgrounds to embark on a transformative journey of Islamic learning.

With a significant student enrollment surpassing that of conventional Madrasas, LAAIQA stands ready to accommodate even more aspiring learners. The larger student community fosters a vibrant and diverse learning environment, encouraging students to engage in collaborative discussions, exchange ideas, and broaden their perspectives on Islamic teachings.

LAAIQA adopts an innovative approach to learning by eliminating language barriers. The Madrasa offers instruction in "Thanglish," a unique code-switching blend of Tamil and English. This linguistic amalgamation facilitates a smoother learning experience, ensuring that students can grasp concepts and principles more effectively.

One of the most commendable aspects of LAAIQA is its commitment to nurturing students' potential. The Madrasa provides an opportunity for individuals who did not qualify in their Ordinary Level (O/L) examinations to pursue Advanced Level (A/L) studies. This opens doors for those who may have faced educational challenges in the past, allowing them to continue their academic journey and further their understanding of Islam.

Recognizing the importance of well-trained teachers, LAAIQA offers a comprehensive six-month Mu'allima training program. This initiative aims to equip educators with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver quality instruction and mentor students effectively.

LAAIQA ensures comprehensive assessment methods to enhance students' knowledge. Examinations, open-book exams will be conducted through online by LAAIQA Madrasa and practical exams will be conducted under the guidance of the Government. Students who wish to pursue the IDCE (Islamic Deeniyyath Certificate Examination ) will have the opportunity to do so in a physical setting. All examinations follow an assignment-based structure, emphasizing practical application and critical thinking.

students' achievements, LAAIQA awards certificates of accomplishment. These certificates serve as tangible evidence of students' dedication, hard work, and commitment to deepening their understanding of Islam.

LAAIQA is not only dedicated to empowering individual learners but also seeks to support those interested in establishing their own Madrasas. The institution stands ready to provide the necessary guidance and support to aspiring educators, fostering the growth of Islamic education across Sri Lanka.

In contrast to some traditional Madrasas that predominantly prioritize Arabic language instruction, LAAIQA recognizes the importance of a holistic approach to Islamic education. While Arabic language proficiency remains essential, LAAIQA places equal emphasis on developing a comprehensive understanding of Islam. This approach ensures that students' faith is nurtured by not only learning the language but also gaining in-depth knowledge of the principles, teachings, and values of Islam.

Within a span of one year, LAAIQA offers a wide range of Islamic studies, equivalent to the curriculum covered in seven years at other Madrasas. These subjects include Al-Quran and Arabic, Al-Hadeeth, Al-Tharikh (Islamic history), Al-Aqeeda,Qaida,as-seerah, Theology, Islamic science, Islamic Intelligence, cyber safety and much more.

OUR MAIN GOAL is to make better Muslims by providing them the Islamic knowledge under the light of Al-Quran and Sunnah
